With this installment, I usher in the new Category of “Web Crap”.

From the Groqit website:
Have you ever brought home a movie you already had? Or stood wondering in a bookstore if this was a book you had at home – whether to risk buying a duplicate or missing out on a good read?

Well here’s a chance to identify yourself as a mindless dork while browsing the Self Help section at Borders! After people ask you “what is that ugly hi-lighter shaped pen-thing you keep rolling across bar codes?” You’ll answer with great confidence, “It’s a 21st century invention that keeps me from buying duplicate possessions!”

And I really love this quote:

The perfect gift for the one who has everything: a way to keep track!

If you have everything, why would you need to keep track?

Here’s another fine selling point. Please Note: To read a Compact Disk (CD) barcode the jacket must be removed from the jewel case.

No problem! I’ll just remove the shrink wrap, pop open the case and scan away! WOW! Lookee here, I already own that CD. I’ll just put that opened package back on the shelf. I love automation!

I bet by now you’re wondering how much this pocket wonder costs? Hold on to your task chair. Only $95.00!!

C’mon, who can’t remember if they own a particular CD or book? If you can’t, you own too much and you definitely don’t need this gizmo.
