Here is a list of Wordpress Plugins I currently use.  This list was ironically generated by a Plugin.  How weird is that?  O.K., not weird.  Maybe kooky?

• Akismet v2.1.8

  Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it.
