This could potentially be the best blogging experience to date for me. The WordPress Droid App installed quickly and is simple to use. I’ll attempt a photo upload too.

Swine Flu Tongue Twisters
Sep 21st, 2009 by Geaked

Please recite the following 3 phrases repeating each one at least three times in a row.  Practice them daily to do your part in combating the spread of the H1N1 virus.

1) The C.D.C. says sneeze into your sleeve.
2) Happen to have a hankerin’ to have hands handle handles?
3) Remember to religiously rub wrists referencing rigorous rinsing.

Stay healthy this flu season!

Tweakers Anonymous
Aug 13th, 2009 by Geaked

I have this problem.

My hands are always in the WordPress cookie jar.

I change the themes.  I experiment with widgets.  I put this thing in and take that thing out.  Save. Refresh.  Go back.  What did I just want to do?  Not that, but this.  Save. Refresh. Broken? Fixed.

Many bloggers tweak.  Tweaking is universal.  Some people tweak their cars or their PC’s.  But my problem rears its ugly head when it gets in the way of, and is a substitute for, BLOGGING.

For shame.

Which brings me to my next point:  I’m in the middle of tweaking a few things around here, as you might be aware.  So show a guy with a little problem some patience while I work things out.

Is there a support group for this?

Create and Motivate
Jun 3rd, 2009 by Geaked

Many are familiar with the tongue and cheek website Despair.com where you can order ‘motivational’ posters (and other schwag) which parody the serious propaganda posters found in many board rooms, schools and government institutions across this great land.

Have a great de-motivational phrase? Than you should wander over to bighugelabs.com and create your own sarcastic masterpiece.  You can upload your own photo, use Flickr, or a web URL.  Type in your title and phrase, choose your border and when done, you can download, email, upload to Flickr, or have a hi-res poster made just for you (cost involved for the later).

Here’s mine.  I used a photo my sister took.

Update:  You can also do this same thing at Despair.com’s website.

In Search of Blue Ribbon Pretzel Bread
May 15th, 2009 by Geaked

I love soft pretzels.  I love pretzel bread. Which I like to call Bretzel. I like sandwiches on bretzel. But plain ol’ bretzel is a treat to eat on its own. There is a bakery in town that makes fresh, soft, bretzel sticks. I try to get some on the weekends. I discovered that the bakery in the small town where I work also makes bretzels in the shape of the traditional pretzel. I brought home a bag today. Not bad. Soft and slightly salty. Good salt is the key to good bretzel. The salt that comes with the store bought frozen “Super Pretzels” is really good.
What de-luscious bretzel bread encounters have you had?  Are you a closet bretzelholic?  Do share!

To The Big House: Bernie “The Ponz” Madoff

Those of you scratching your heads, wondering what the devil Madoff’s Ponzi scheme looked like, head over here to download a PDF of the Plea Allocution of Bernard L.Madoff.

And if you want to track what other’s are saying/writing about this try out Twendz.  A unique way to track – in real time – ‘the buzz’ on anything being Twittered.  From their website:

twendz is a Twitter mining Web application that utilizes the power of Twitter Search, highlighting conversation themes and sentiment of the tweets that talk about topics you are interested in. As the conversation changes, so does twendz by evaluating up to 70 tweets at a time. When new tweets are posted, they are dynamically updated, minute by minute.

Type in ‘madoff’ (or any other item of your liking) in the search box and watch the flow of Twitter comments and links scroll by.  Really cool website.

Fridgid Temps Close Schools
Jan 17th, 2009 by Geaked

Grayden in Motion
Rebecca..

It got so cold they closed the schools.

Detroit’s WJR News/Talk Radio had the fastidious task of reading the excruciatingly long list of educational facilities (a majority of the 194 Public and 92 Private schools)  that would close their doors to the delight of kiddies everywhere due to record sub-zero temps.  This list was so long that it took not one, but TWO newscasters to read it from beginning to end.

I have a 20 minute ride into work.  This list was read twice on my commute.  My question:  Why can’t they read the SHORT list of schools that are OPEN? For instance…

“Detroit schools that WILL be open today are:  The Lady of The Masochist, Snowbound Elementary, Frozen Snots Pre-school  and Freezling High.  All others are closed.”

See how much simpler?
