Vista Keyboard Shortcut
February 18th, 2008 by Geaked

I love learning a new keyboard shortcut.  There are many out there – too many to memorize, so I gravitate toward a few I know I’ll use on a consistent basis.

Just as you read from left to right, the corresponding icons in the Quick Launch tool bar are assigned numbers from [1] on the far left, than [2], etc. If you are using MS Vista, you can quickly select items in your Quick Launch tool bar by selecting the “Win” key + the number [#_] of the associated icon.  So if Internet Explorer is the second icon in your Quick Launch tool bar, press the “Win Key” + “2″ and wah-lah, your browser opens (that is, if you are browser-challenged and NOT using Firefox)!  This works no matter what application has the focus.

    Wow ! That’s cool !
I’ll need to find a Vista installed PC to actually check it for myself.

    I use KDE on FreeBSD.

    Thanks !

    Hey Jaffer!

Thanks for the words. It’s the simple things in life that makes a Geak happy. Peace.
