“Google” Spelled Wrong!
February 14th, 2007 by Administrator

Did anyone else catch this on Valentine’s Day?

Google’s homepage rendering of a chocolate covered strawberry (for the lower case ‘g’) was clever…until you notice that no ‘L’ follows! Googe
Googe!

Do you think Google would use an “urban” [read: off-color] term for Valentine’s Day? Odd. I wonder if they know what the term means. Coincidence? Or did you hack their page ;)

Thanks for the education – I had no idea what a googe was.

doesn’t the stem of the strawberry form the ‘L’?

    Hey Derek,

Seems that’s what Google was after… the stem fulfilled the complete spelling. It was one of those things that either jumped out at you, or was hidden at first glance.

A bit of a stretch – but it got folks talking about it all over the web.

    Thanks for stopping in…
    Sam
