Geocaching
September 11th, 2005 by Geaked

We headed out yesterday (sensa baby) for more geocaching… finding two more! Our first stop was where we left off last weekend, the Old Lindley Road Cache.
Mz.D found a huge puffball mushroom. I believe this is of the poisonous variety and might very well be a Pigskin Puffball. Notice her foot at the top to give a reference point to size.

This is a challenging find for first-timers, but after stomping around in the brambles, my wife (once again) shouted out “I see it!”. After patching up me ego, I walked over to where she was and we logged our info in the notebook. She noticed the email address of the originating “owner” of the cache, as it included a last name that was familiar to her. She has sent off an email to them as they possibly were next door neighbors in Ann Arbor when she was growing up. This Lindley Road cache is approximately 4 years old. As my wife said, “It’s strange that I may have found a bit of my past in a plastic container in the woods.” I will follow up when we find out.

On to our second find of the day: The Warrior Creek (Micro) Cache. This prooved to be a much easier find. The park here is close to us, but we had never been before – one of the benefits of Geocaching. It’s not a big park, but well kempt and there is a waterfall with of course the creek nearby.

This geocache is a typical micro cache, containing only a folded up piece of paper (no pen, so bring your own) where people simple put their name, date and maybe a short greeting.

The pictures below give you some idea of the size and hiding place.
