The north and west sides of the yard are heavily shaded with mature oaks. Not much grass grows and moss is the dominant ground cover. We’ve finally had much needed rain in the last two weeks with temps taking a dive from mid-day highs in the mid nineties (with 90%+ humidity) to yesterdays mid seventies. Mz.D and I walked outside this morning and noticed a few mushrooms now growing among the moss. I then glanced further down the yard and saw a surreal crop of domed toadstools that had magically appeared overnight. Some with flat tops, some pointed, a couple just pushing through the soil and a few bright orange. It was both interesting and creepy at the same time. This photo was my favorite. I’ve uploaded some others at my |mainframe|photogallery|

There’s a fungus amoung us!
